Not just the standard.
Our standard.
Every batch that leaves our warehouse in Herne is inspected, documented and traceable back to the melt. We are certified to AS/EN 9100 and AS/EN 9120, as well as approved for Airbus, Collins Aerospace/RTX and other aerospace and defence programmes.
What you can rely on
Our quality management system is regularly audited and certified by BSI (The British Standards Institution). In addition, we hold customer-specific supplier approvals from the aerospace industry.
What our customers confirm
From our regular customer survey — share of top ratings per category.
Our customers consistently rate the quality of our products with top marks — a result we're very proud of. We also receive outstandingly positive feedback on documentation and technical competence, and our responsiveness is rated excellent by nearly all respondents. This feedback confirms it to us every day anew: excellent quality at Tennant Metall isn't an aspiration, it's lived reality.
From incoming goods inspection to certificate
100% dimensional and visual inspection as well as marking and documentation are standard for every batch. Chemical analysis and mechanical testing are carried out specifically upon customer request.
100% Dimensional & Visual Inspection Standard
Chemical Analysis (Spectrography) Upon Request
Mechanical Testing, NDT if Required Upon Request
Marking to Customer Specification Standard
100% Documentation (Full Traceability) Standard
From the melt to delivery
Every batch is stored strictly by melt/heat and remains clearly identifiable throughout the entire process. On request, we provide the complete mill certificate 3.1 per EN 10204.
This means every delivery can be traced back to its original melt if needed — a core requirement in aerospace as well as in defence technology.

Testing and individual packaging under one roof
Chemical Analysis
At our Herne site, we carry out chemical analysis (spectrography) in-house — upon explicit customer request.
- Spectrography / chemical analysis — upon request
- Mechanical testing: forwarded to an external, independent materials laboratory
Export Packaging per IPPC
As an approved packaging station, we produce export packaging in-house. All wood packaging used consists of wood that has already been heat-treated to the international ISPM 15 standard of the IPPC.
- Approved packaging station to IPPC standard
- Wood packaging consistently ISPM 15-compliant (heat-treated wood)
- Vacuum packaging upon request
Quality starts before incoming goods
Our Quality Assurance Agreement holds our own suppliers to high standards too — the foundation for the quality we pass on to you.
Zero-Defect Target & NADCAP Preference
We generally require our suppliers to provide an inspection certificate per EN 10204/3.1. For outsourced special processes (e.g. heat treatment), NADCAP accreditation is preferred; testing service providers must be competent to at least EN/IEC 17025.
Regular Supplier Ratings
We continuously evaluate our suppliers against fixed criteria such as certification, delivery reliability, documentation quality and complaint rate.
Our Own Material Requirements
In addition to standard requirements, we define our own material requirements that suppliers for the motorsport sector must comply with — for an additional, TENNANT-specific level of quality.
The complete Quality Assurance Agreement with all requirements for our suppliers is available as a PDF download.
